To make this clever wreath, fold 2 sheets of black paper accordion-style (about 1.5" inch folds), and then fold each in half lengthwise so you have two segments. Cut the top of the fold diagonally so you'll have a pointed end when it's unfolded. Then, cut three rectangles out of the paper, about half an inch apart, on each part of the segment. Once you have folded and cut both sheets of paper, tie them together tightly at their center folds. Take each loose edge of folded paper and using a glue stick, attach it to the end next to it. You'll see the paper will start to open up like a web!

It's that time of year: Halloween decorations are going up all over the neighborhood, and no self-respecting homeowner wants to be outdone! Skeleton decorations are planted in garden plots, light-up zombie graveyard decorations are staked into the ground, and Halloween tombstone decorations are carefully arranged along walkways to greet the party guests.
This is quite involved for outdoor Halloween decorations. Black foam creates the background. After the background has been cut, cut foam boards into irregular board shapes. Since they don’t look like wood, a wood grain tool is used once the foam has been painted gray. It has to be done when the paint is wet. Then arrange them on the background as you like. For cartoony zombie arms, use store bought skeleton arms and paint them a bright, neon green. Painting the ends that will connect to the foam background black will help give the impression that they really are coming out of the shadows. Eyeballs are created using ping pong balls cut in half and neon green paint pens. To hang it up, add picture hanging wire on the top and a suction cup hook on the window.

In our homes, we tend to hold on to our empty containers and packaging, so this candy tin is no exception. Having bought the candy last Christmas, the container seemed too nice to part with. With the candy long gone, the tin container now makes a pretty cute and inexpensive pumpkin decoration. And if you love upcycled projects as much as we do, you should check out this round up of perfectly upcycled pumpkin project ideas.

Bare-limbed trees provide the perfect ghostly perch for jack-o'-lanterns, LED candle lanterns, and a flock of faux black crows. Make sure the tree limbs are sturdy enough to support the weight of the items you are hanging and take care not to over-decorate, which can lessen the overall effect. Funkins (Styrofoam pumpkins) are an especially good choice for this project, since they're lightweight and won't rot.
Download this bat stencil, then trace the shape onto a piece of black craft paper and cut out the bat with scissors. Then, place the stencil back atop each critter you create and use a bone folder to make creases along the dotted lines on the stencil. Fold the creases opposite ways on each wing to make the wings 3D. Attach each bat to a long piece of string with tiny black clothespins.

The level of detail in this zombie head is amazing. The paint job on it was terrible and minimal. However a touch of acrylic paint in the shadows and fully color in the details on the eyes/teeth and this thing looks incredible. Best zombie head I've come across. If you have any inclination towards an artistic touch up and you will end up with something impressive. (Pictures show before and after.)
